Melissa started with Aegis in 2006 as a registered occupational therapist and her energetic, bubbly personality shines through in her work with patients.

“I love helping our patients work toward their goals and see how excited they get as they increase their quality of life and are able to do more for themselves,” she said. “I enjoy learning from my patients, seeing their happiness as they reach their goals and increase independence with self-care tasks.”

Melissa said that the key drivers of providing excellent service to residents, patients and coworkers include building relationships, being a patient advocate, working as a team to reach goals and finding out what motivates her patients. Being a part of Aegis has helped her achieve her goals.

“I am thankful for a company that allows me to develop myself professionally,” she said. “All the CEUs provided by Aegis have been beneficial to me.”

Her work includes evaluation, treatments, OT schedule board, care plan meetings and helping OT fieldwork students.
