Mary M.
Rehab Program Coordinator
Masters of Occupational Therapy
Mary started as a PRN in 2006 and came on board at Aegis full time
in March 2007. She said that flexibility and change are part of
what makes her job fun—no two days are the same.
“All of my responsibilities include daily problem solving. Each
patient that enters our facility has experienced a loss; strength,
cognition, overall daily independence and we help them get that
back,” she said. “I love talking with our residents to find out
what loss they are struggling with and problem solving how we can
improve their lives.”
Excellence in communication is a priority for Mary, especially in
making sure that patients’ voices are heard.
“Finding out what our customers need and communicating what we can
do to assist them will always result in a more positive workplace,”
she said.
The Aegis core programs have been invaluable to Mary as a
professional working in the geriatric field.
“The training offered by Aegis in the core programs is special
because it is specifically geared towards to population we are
working with everyday and designed by therapists in our field,” she
said. “You can apply 100 percent of what you have learned.”
Mary’s job duties include supervising and guiding the therapy
department; assisting with communication between therapy and other
departments in the facility; monitoring treatment planning and
minute management; and providing treatment and documents for
patients.
